Welcome to Meeting Tools and Jewels.  This website and blog is your resource to improve your meetings by giving you ways to address the recurring problems that get in the way of efficient and effective group time (the tools).  Also, you will get ideas for increasing group creativity, making decisions, and getting full participation and more (the jewels).

Now, about me:

After many years as a facilitator of meetings and a trainer in meeting management skills, I was given the nickname of Meetings Maven!

I worked for 20 years as a facilitator to large corporations in the area of creative thinking and innovation in business.  Then, I formed my own consulting company to apply those skills to help organizations achieve a variety of objectives:  strategic planning, problem solving, vision and mission creation, performance evaluation, and more.  Clients have included large firms such as Boston Scientific Corporation as well as small businesses such as Accufund.  I have facilitated meetings for non-profit organizations including Tufts University and Bottom Line.  As a result of my work with clients and at their request, I designed and taught workshops in conducting productive meetings and facilitation skills.  This site and my blog were born of a desire to share tips and techniques with clients and anyone who participates in unproductive meetings!

A native Bostonian, I earned my M.B.A. from Simmons College and a B.A. in English from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. I have written many articles about facilitation and meeting management. My booklets on the subject have sold thousands of copies and can be found in the Store on this website.
